Sephora:As an Engineer Manager, you will be collaborating with
colleagues and the architecture team to build solutions that focus
on performance, usability, scalability, and standards. Reporting to
the Director of Engineering, eCommerce Development, you will work
closely with extremely talented architects, leads and peers from
cross functional teams and product managers supporting ongoing
agile delivery by a diverse, distributed engineering
organization.Responsibilities:
- Manages projects from kick-off through launch. Defines, scope,
requirements, timing, and resources needed, considering site
architecture, standards, and functionality.
- Communicates updates on project milestones, decisions, status,
mitigation, and delivery across business groups.
- Ensures projects are launched on-time, on-strategy, and meet
high-quality standards.
- Manage a team of engineers to deliver and maintain Sephora's
systems, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and
scalability.
- Guiding the team in design, architecture, implementation,
validation, and monitoring, leveraging your experience to identify
potential pitfalls and set coding standards.
- Actively participating in code reviews to help the team deliver
robust, maintainable, and high-quality software.
- Strategically planning and prioritizing the backlog, assigning
tasks to team members, tracking project execution and mitigating
any observed risks.
- Communicating progress, risks, and outcomes to senior
management and other relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborating closely with Product and Program Management and
UX Design teams to determine feasibility and scope of execution of
new features and maintaining relationships with partner teams to
manage dependencies.
- Modeling a culture that values a growth mindset, integrity,

- Attending to team members' needs and aligning their work with

- Fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture that

Prioritizing, delegating, and supervising all engineering
activities and deliverables, providing strategic technical input
and solutions when needed.
- Managing the recruitment, onboarding, and continuous training
of engineering talent to build and maintain a skilled team.
Conducting performance reviews, setting objectives, and
facilitating career development plans for team members. Approving
timesheets for consultants in Fieldglass.We're excited about you if
you have:
- 8+ years experience managing eCommerce website operations
across desktop and mobile web.
- 8+ years' experience in web technology with a successful
history of launching projects with experience with Microservices
(REST and Graph) and kafka integration.
- 2+ years' experience leading or managing other engineers.
- Formal training or certification in software engineering
concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Experience leading technology projects.
- Strong hands-on coding experience with Java, Springboot,
Microservices APIs, GraphQL etc.
- Proficient in automation and continuous delivery methods.
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life
Cycle.
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD,
Application Resiliency, and Security.
- Successfully delivered solutions using one of the cloud
platforms e.g. AWS/GCP/Azure/ PCF.
- Integrated with messaging platforms e.g. RabbitMQ/ Kafka/ cloud
messaging/ enterprise messaging.
- Experience working on API Gateway such as Axway or Apigee.
- In-depth knowledge of the Retail industry and their IT
systems.
- Experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a
related field and expertise in technology disciplines.
- Experience with GraphQL, nice to have.
- Exposure to Machine learning and GenAI is a plus.You'll love

$152,010.00- $187,700.00. The actual base salary offered depends on
a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the
applicant's qualifications for the position; years of relevant
experience; specific and unique skills; level of education
attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other
legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the
position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives
and/or from which they will perform the job. Individuals employed
in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses. Sephora
