Job Description:
Reach to Win Youth Home and Family Services is a Short Term
Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) facility that provides
residential and mental health services to foster girls ages 12 to
17 years old. We are seeking a dynamic, licensed Mental Health
Clinician/Head of Service to accept this part-time opportunity,
grow and develop with us.

The Mental Health Head of Service oversees the operational and
clinical delivery of all services for each resident served by the
Mental Health program. The Head of Service is responsible for
fostering a climate, policies, and routines that enable residents
to reduce crisis situations and improve the resident's functioning.
This climate shall provide residents with the highest practical
level of treatment and coordination of care. Oversee clinical
supervision of staff and coordinate 24-hour on-call accessibility
with other staff.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Master's Degree in Social Work or Marriage and Family Therapy,
or doctorate in psychology required.
Experience:
- 3-5 years' experience in mental health programs, preferably
with children.
- Must have at least two years post licensure experience,
including the state required clinical supervision
trainings.
- Management/administrative/supervisory experience preferred.
License or Certification:
- Licensure as either Marriage and Family Therapist, Clinical
Social Worker, or Clinical Psychologist in active status with State
of California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
- Valid California driver's license.
Specialized Skills:
- Ability to interact and communicate both verbally and in
writing with seriously emotionally disturbed children, other staff,
physicians and the public.
- Demonstrated understanding of psychiatric illness and its
treatment.
- Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of community services
and county agencies.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to visually and audibly assess resident's behavior and
needs.
- Ability to sit at a desk and communicate over the telephone for
extended periods of time each day, up to 1 hour at a time.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS REQUIRED:
- Demonstrated knowledge of response to assaultive
behavior.
- Demonstrated use of Universal Precautions.
- Demonstrated safe driving record with DMV and attendance at
vehicle orientation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans, organizes, implements, evaluates, and directs a
comprehensive program. Accountable for clinical practice, measuring
outcomes to interventions, documentation and departmental
productivity.
- Develops and maintains a good working rapport with other staff,
as well as other community agencies which serve the
residents.
- Assists the Executive Director in determining departmental
staffing and budgetary needs.
- Recruits, interviews, selects, supervises, and evaluates all
staff.
- Reviews departmental policies and procedures to assure
compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement, Safety, and
other interdisciplinary meetings.
- Ensures all regulatory requirements for documentation are met
by all staff members and monitors compliance.
- Prepares department for regulatory surveys.
- Directs staff to help residents and family take a more
proactive role in self-advocacy to improve quality of
life.
- Responds to issues identified by residents or family to
determine satisfaction with services.
- Maintain a safe, healthy, and therapeutic environment at the
STRTP.
- Ensure that each child admitted to the program has a mental
health assessment.
- Ensure that each child in the STRTP has commonality of needs
with the other children in the STRTP, including whether the child's
presence is adverse to the safety or mental health needs of the
child or other children admitted to the STRTP.
- Ensuring the mental health services identified on each
treatment plan are provided and appropriate to meet the individual
needs of the child.
- Make arrangements, including transportation, for children to
receive mental health services that cannot be provided by the
STRTP.
- Arrange for special provision of mental health services to
children with disabilities including visual and auditory
impairment.
- Ensuring that documentation and recordkeeping requirements are
met.
- Liase with STRTP team to develop schedules for the operation of
the STRTP mental health program.
- Supervises and oversees the documentation of services by
staff.
- Manages the provision of therapeutic interventions by all
staff.
- Serves as a mentor to staff to develop and provide clinical
interventions.
- Serves as a resource to staff and residents/family for conflict
resolution as needed.
- Develops community linkages and a system of collaboration with
community based providers and coordinates the clinical application
of services.
- Establishes relationships and maintains contact and referral
flow with community based agencies/services.
- Coordinates contacting residents and family post transition to
ensure successful transition.
- Participates in new employee orientation, including but not
limited to educating staff regarding program.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $50.00 - $85.00 per hour
