    • Job Requirements
    • - Unit: ED
    • - # beds: 30, 5 trauma bays
    • - Ratios: 1:4
    • - EMR: Cerner
    • - Charge Nurse: Yes, generally does not take patients, but will do break relief.
    • - Nurse Aides: Yes as census and staffing dictates
    • - Tele: Yes, must be able to read and interpret EKG strips.
    • - Vents: Yes
    • - Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Yes, Hospitalist or Intensivist
    • - IV Team: No
    • - RT 24/7: Yes
    • - Pharmacy 24/7: Yes
    • Level II Trauma experience required. (Level I Trauma experience would be a PLUS!)
    • Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Primary trauma center for the area. Standard ED patients. Psych holds with security if agitated.
      • Schedule Information
      • - Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
      • - Holidays: Rotate in with core staff
      • - Shifts: 12 hr shifts. Shift starts 645. Report is at the bedside. OT and extra shifts are available.
      • Self-scheduling is used, but is not finalized until Manager balances it. Schedules are out 4 weeks.
      • Travelers can access their schedules from home and make themselves "available" for extra shifts and make trades with other staff.
      • Block scheduling is generally not available.
        • Unit Specific Information
        • Floor specific orientation: 1 - 2 days on the floor with preceptor.
        • - Scrub Color: Navy - under shirts must be navy, white, or black. Scrub jackets are optional, must be navy.
          • Additional Details
          • For Holiday RTO: Travelers will work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years).
          • Managers will make the final call on scheduling, but we will include this verbiage on the confirmation.
          • Holiday time off will be considered, however not guaranteed.
          • Modules are required done before start. Modules take 3-4 hours -not billable.
