Robotics and Digital Solutions, part of Johnson & Johnson MedTech family of companies, is recruiting for a Principal Clinical Engineer for the Strategic Robotics R&D Team. This position is located in Santa Clara, CA.\r\rWHAT WE DO:The Strategic Robotics R&D team envisions a future for robotic intervention that is targeted, minimally invasive, and personalized. You will have the opportunity to define user needs, establish clinical and engineering requirements, consider clinical risks, and identify solutions to guide product development. This role offers high autonomy and growth opportunities within the team as we progress towards realizing our vision.\r\rKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Leverage comprehensive clinical, technical, and design control expertise to collaborate with cross-functional teams in discovering, defining, developing, and validating a new portfolio of products ranging across the entire program.
• Offer technical and clinical expertise to the team, providing guidance throughout the design, development, and testing phases of various products' lifecycles.
• Contribute to product strategies and roadmaps while effectively communicating updates and insights to the broader organization and leadership team.
• Assist in defining the framework and processes of the clinical engineering organization, while helping to highlight its value within R&D to promote collaboration and support innovation.
• Work across the organization to discover unmet clinical needs, establish customer requirements and provide clinical input to engineering design requirements.
• Design and implement test models and methodologies to facilitate evaluations of product performance in clinically relevant scenarios.
• Partner with physicians and key clinical users to develop novel procedural techniques, gather product feedback, and integrate their insights into product iterations.
• Develop new product clinical workflows, conduct clinical risk assessments, and propose effective mitigations for identified hazards.
• Establish a robust design validation strategy to ensure the product meets all customer requirements and performs reliably in clinical settings.\r\r
