  • Job Details
  • A hospital near Sacramento is looking for experienced Telemetry RN for a travel contract.
  • The right candidate will have 2 years of experience, hold an active BLS, ACLS, NIH and CA License.
    • Schedule Information
    • 12 hr shifts. Shift starts 645. Report is at the bedside.
    • Self-scheduling is used, but is not finalized until Manager balances it.
    • Schedules are out 4 weeks. Travelers can access their schedules from home and make themselves "available" for extra shifts and make trades with other staff.
    • Block scheduling is generally not available.
      • Unit Specific Information
      • Unit: Telemetry 2 South
      • # beds: 14 South, 8 East
      • Ratios: 1:4
      • EMR: Cerner
      • Charge Nurse: Yes, generally does not take patients, but will do break relief.
      • Nurse Aides: Yes as census and staffing dictates. 1-2 normally.
      • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
      • Holidays: Rotate in with core staff
      • Scrub Color: Navy - under shirts must be navy, white, or black. Scrub jackets are optional, must be navy.
      • Tele: Yes, must be able to read and interpret EKG strips.
      • Vents: No
      • Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Yes
      • IV Team: No
      • RT 24/7: Yes
      • Pharmacy 24/7: Yes
      • Floor specific orientation: 1 - 2 days on the floor with a preceptor.
      • Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Cardiac patient focus, general overflow. Stable non-titrating Cardizem, Amio, Heparin.
        • Additional Details
        • Modules are required to be done before start of assignment.
        • Modules take on average 3-4 hours to complete-this time is not billable to the hospital.
        • Travelers will work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years).
        • Holiday time off will be considered, however not guaranteed.
        • SACRAMENTO'S FACILITY-WIDE ORIENTATION IS HELD THE FIRST WEEK IN SACRAMENTO AND NOT GRASS VALLEY WHERE THE HOSPITAL IS LOCATED!
        • Must be flexible team member.
        • Charge RN rounds with interdisciplinary team.
