of this success.About the RoleThe purpose of the Maritime
sub-function is to bring people and resources together through an
optimized maritime supply chain that is world class, measured by
the safest coverage at the lowest cost. This role is responsible
for ensuring that optimal maritime solutions are delivered to the
business in line with our commercial strategy, and all maritime
operations are conducted in accordance with organizational and
industry requirements, protecting BHP's reputation.As the Principal
Supply Chain Optimisation, your key purpose is to drive efficiency
along the end-to-end supply chain. You will support the business to
act on our strategy and manage maritime risk, governance,
compliance and improve processes through digital and data
enablement.Accountabilities include:
- Lead process improvement and redesign processes using
appropriate tools/methodologies in line with the BHP Operating
System (BOS);
- Manage safety and sustainability projects that are data-driven
and automated to meet customer needs in line with Maritime's data
and digital roadmap.
- Build understanding of key supply chain risks and support
annual Maritime risk reviews.
- Shape the Maritime function's governance and enhance the
controls framework to reduce incidents and business impact.
- Support leadership in strategic decision making and supply
chain optimisation. Apply scenario modelling, systems thinking and
consider stakeholder perspectives to enhance decision making
outcomes aligned with functional, operational and organisational
objectives.
- Actively source and synthesise various forms of market
intelligence and interpret its relevance for the BHP environment.
Leverage a sound understanding of industry trends and market
intelligence to inform work effort and prioritisation.
- Identify, engage and manage a range of diverse internal
stakeholders across Commercial and our Business Partners (Risk,
Technology, Ethics & Compliance, Legal) to drive project delivery
and positive commercial outcomes.
- Lead standard routines with Asset/Port stakeholders fostering a
culture of collaboration and continuous improvement on all matters
related to the Maritime supply chain.About YouAs a successful
candidate you will possess the following:
- Strong project management skills, with demonstrable prior
experience in leading change management projects and delivering
improvement initiatives for customers.
- Confidence in managing and communicating with stakeholders in a
matrixed organisation and building relationships with industry
bodies.
- Influencing skills to share best practice, latest regulations
and standards and passion to uplift safety and sustainability in
the maritime sector.
- Ability to articulate strategy through strong writing skills,
data analytics, charts and visualizations leveraging MS office
(Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI).
- Experience with commercial contracting strategies and risk
management an advantage.
- Experience in or consulting with resourcing, supply chain and
