and our team.The Role:The Tinder Integrity team is responsible for
systems, algorithms, and policies that keep Tinder and its members
safe. It is a multidisciplinary team of engineers, ML
practitioners, product managers, analysts, and policy experts.Our
Anti Abuse team is responsible for proactively identifying,
investigating, and mitigating scaled abuse and other threats to the
integrity of Tinder. The team works cross-functionally to design,
build, test, and implement automated detection signals and
algorithms that accurately and effectively target bad actors at
scale.Where you'll workThis is a hybrid role and requires in-office
collaboration two times per week (Los Angeles / Palo Alto).In this
role, you will:
- Be on the front lines of addressing emerging threats by
participating in an on-call rotation, providing incident response
and triage, implementing algorithm updates, and executing timely
actions to mitigate abuse and protect the platform at scale.
- Proactively identify and disrupt scaled abuse threats prevalent
on the platform through enhancements and updates to automated
detection systems.
- Monitor emerging anomalies in Tinder's core KPIs (such as user
activity) to identify and mitigate the root causes of malicious
behavior.
- Leverage data mining and threat intelligence to track and
profile persistent abuse threats and trends, linking their activity
to KPIs and enabling targeted strategies.
- Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, and Policy
to strengthen threat detection and remediation strategies.
- Continually improve our team's ability to measure impact by
partnering with analytics and data science teams to implement and
refine metrics to better detect and understand nuanced abuse
patterns.You will need:
- 1+ year of professional experience in data analytics or data
science with a focus on Trust and Safety, Cybersecurity, Anti-Spam,
Anti-Abuse, or a related field.
- Professional experience with Python, SQL, Spark, or similar big
data query tools for building data models to support specialized
analyses.
- Familiarity with Python-based analytics environments, such as
Databricks, and/or with data visualization tools, such as Grafana,
Mode, and Tableau.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, especially
to executive and non-subject-matter-expert audiences.Nice to have:
- BS/MS or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information
Systems, Intelligence Studies, Cybersecurity or related field.
- Professional experience in creating and maintaining
algorithms.
- Knowledge and familiarity with persistent scaled abuse threat
actors.
- Experience uncovering indicators of abuse and applying creative
strategies to mitigate.
- Experience in leading technical projects and mentoring junior
team members.Salary Range:$95,500 - $125,000 a yearFactors such as
scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work
experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer
equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence
base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic
adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an
authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in
